Villages and Where to Stay

The Realm has five towns and seven villages, and inns in all of them. Under Article VI of the Charter no Luxian may be refused shelter on the mountain, and the custom runs downhill: a visitor who arrives late will be found a bed.

The villages

  • Kranigord and Jamima, in the Valdoria Valley, an hour's walk from the capital along the river
  • Seak Lumina, below Peak Lumina in the Cinder Highlands, the highest village of the Realm
  • Muraeck, Melepi, and Mam, in the Eastern Peaks above Bonic
  • Marlaneis, on the southern shore of Lake Aurelia, reached by boat from Verdian

Inns

Every town has inns; every village has at least one. They are small, timber inside stone, and serve Quormé Sabzuee on winter evenings whether you order it or not. Book ahead for December 1, the Solstice week, the Luxian Descent, and Warden's Day. At other times, arrive.

The Warden's House

Not an inn. But citizens may bring any matter to the High Warden on the first Monday of each month, and visitors may watch the Council from the gallery on sitting days.
