| Aethelgard | Western Forest March | 3,300 | Timber, paper, woodcarving, the road to France |
The second town of the Realm sits where the Silvershine leaves the highlands, under the south face of the Cinder. It is the ski town: the Pass House of the Warden of the Passes, the base of Cinder Peak, the finish of the First Descent and the Luxian Descent, and the workshops that cut Obsidianite. The first ski races of the 1890s were run here.
Highest and smallest of the four resort towns, on the eastern wall. The Bonic pass above it leads to Switzerland. The skiing is the steepest in the Realm, and the Sentinels of the second company are recruited here more than anywhere.
On the western shore of Lake Aurelia. The warmest town of the Realm, with the only vineyards, the summer harbour, and the Aurelia Ridge resort above it. The Solstice wine comes from Verdian.
In the forest of the west, on the Silvershine where the valley widens toward France. Timber, paper for the notes of the Realm, and the woodcarving of the Forest March. The Forest road leaves the Realm here.
Kranigord and Jamima in the Valdoria Valley; Seak Lumina below Peak Lumina in the Cinder Highlands; Muraeck, Melepi, and Mam in the Eastern Peaks; Marlaneis on the southern shore of the lake. Together the villages hold about 5,400 people.
