Honors of the Realm

The Realm confers three honors, all by decree of the High Warden and all announced on Warden's Day, March 21. Each is recorded beneath the citizen's entry in the Register.

The Order of the Stone Heart

The highest honor of the Realm, for service to Luxemburry over a lifetime. The badge is a heart of Obsidianite on a red ribbon. Members are styled Companion of the Stone Heart and may add the letters CSH after their name. There are never more than twenty living Companions.

The Silvershine Medal

For kindness. Given to a citizen who has, in the words of the founding decree of Abselet III, "kept the hearth for others." A silver medal showing the river, on a blue ribbon. Any citizen may propose any other for it; the High Warden decides.

Knight of the Cinder Peaks

For the fastest descent in the Luxian Descent of the last weekend of February. A gold badge of a single mountain, worn for the year, and the title Knight of the Cinder Peaks for life. The current holder skis first in the following year's Descent.

Titles of the Realm

Separately from the honors, the High Warden may give a citizen a title for a duty they hold: Keeper of the Hearth, Warden of the Lakes, Master of the Hunt, Warden of the Passes. Titles are recorded in the Register and used in the Realm.

Conferring

Honors are conferred on Charter Square on Warden's Day, after the Register is read. The citizen is called by name and number, the badge is given, and the square answers Halen.

Kept the hearth for others

The words of the founding decree of the Silvershine Medal, the honor the Realm gives for kindness.
